After two T8 typhoons, Hong Kong’s weather finally dialled down 3-5 degrees lower. And milder weather means — the hiking season has begun… at least for our family. I remembered it was Mother’s day when we did our last hike and how exhaustingly hot that day was, which made us — or me — decide to look for alternative weekend activities for the family from then on until our desired hiking weather returns.
So once we felt the the cool breeze on Saturday morning, we decided to head for an easy hike in the afternoon. Our destination – Razor Hill and Little Hawaii Waterfalls.
We grabbed a cab and headed to Razor Hill Road, where we commenced the hike.

It was a very steep hike going to the top of Razor Hill, but we enjoyed the somewhat natural path on the way up the hill. We passed through some tombstones and followed the ribbons put in pace to mark the right hiking path. We also particularly liked that there were ropes along the path to help hikers with the steep climb.
After about 50mins of hiking up with the kids, we were rewarded with a beautiful bird’s eye view of Sai Kung and Clearwater Bay!
The journey down was a bit more gradual with loads of steps and forks. But when in doubt, we chose the right (vs the left) path.

We followed the All Trails map but still missed the turn to lead to Little Hawaii Waterfalls. So when we arrived near Tsueng Kwan O Village, it was a bit late and kids were quite tired already. We then decided to end our trip here as we had a dinner to catch with friends at Tseung Kwan O Waterfront Park.

T’was another well spent Saturday! Until the next week’s adventure…
