We’re back on track: Shoreline Trail, Port Moody

It was love at first sight for Aaron when he saw our house because it’s enveloped by the woods. Trails are literally behind our home.

So after settling in for a day and having my much needed snuggles (and house cleaning! 😂), it’s time for me to explore our neighbourhood.

Our backyard trail

We walked down from our place to the Shoreline Trail, all the way to Rocky Point Park. It took us over an hour easy walk to get to our destination.

We passed through Port Moody Recreation Center and a train track.

On the way to Rocky Point, there were some interesting finds – including a dead shark! Yep — you read that right. I guess the inlet near our place is really brimming with life. Too bad Lukey didn’t find a live crab. Although, he and Aaron almost got stuck in the mudflat!

At Rocky Point Park, the kids immediately went straight to the playground. Crows sat on top of the pirate ship themed playground making it look like the real deal — of course with kids as pirates, stealing our time! But we let them as it’s the only thing they want from us anyway. Well, that and a million more things but time is most definitely one of the top priceless things they crave.

After about an hour, we had lunch from the Shawarma foodtruck, then headed straight to line up at the Rocky Point Ice Cream for dessert — a family owned business which scoops real yummy flavoured cold treats! I do wonder how it’ll be like when winter comes…

Somewhere behind us is our place. Plus, also in photo is our melting ice cream! Aya’s bubble gum flavoured ice cream had real bubble gum! Aaron and I shared banana fudge, while Lukey had rocky road.

We headed home after this family photo was taken, following the Shoreline Trail again. I’m pretty sure we’ll be back in this area again and again…

Heading home!
… but be BEAR aware!
Hiking back up to our neighbourhood!
