I deactivated my Instagram…

My necks been hurting for a while now. I’m telling myself it’s because of my posture when I sit all day in front of my work computer. But really, it’s because of my endless hours of looking down on my phone. Writing this entry now isn’t helping either as I use my iPhone. Well, it’s been over a year since I last wrote something here so I thought I’ll write something now at 1:03am. Yes, that’s because I just deactivated my Instagram and Facebook.

All it took was an exchange with my good friend Lau, who I can’t wait to see in persoon soon and relive our getaways when we were young and beautiful (we’re obviously still beautiful but a little less younger though)! She sacrificed Instagram for lent or something like that, and she was rewarded with a lot less screentime and more quality time to do what’s more important in life. I thought, why not do the same?!

And so, I went through my accounts — deactivated them one by one, deleted my apps, and then messaged Lau that I did it too!

Five seconds later…

I realized I use social media for work. So, I downloaded the apps again and reactivated my accounts.

But wait there’s more! I deleted the apps again! I think that should do it.

In conclusion, I am still alive and breathing in social media space but I hopefully will be less of a doom scroller. I aim to minimize my screentime like Lau did and be a good model to my children!

Wish me luck and may I write more to you. I have loads to update you with and my journey…

…with sourdough! But that’s for another day. 😉
